“Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity”

I see psychotherapy as a space and time protected from the external world. It is filled with potential: the potential to be known in a different way, the potential to be heard and seen, and the potential to come in contact with parts of ourselves that we might have forgotten or left behind. I work with patients to feel their way towards new spaces of generativity, new moments of insight, new ways of understanding the aspects of ourselves we just cannot seem to make sense of.

I am curious and kind, engaged and receptive, striving always towards greater recognition of what (and how) you are experiencing. I firmly believe in this work and strive to provide an atmosphere where you can come forward, safe and supported. Over time, together, we can discover where the tendrils of creativity and courage can be strengthened. In turn, such strengthening can bring a sense of grace and stability to how you relate to yourself, others, and the world.

I work with my patients psychoanalytically whether that be in psychotherapy (1-2 times per week) or psychoanalysis (3-5 times per week). In psychoanalytic work, we pay attention to the undercurrents, the difficult to detect, the flickers and moments within our subjective experience that can be difficult to theorize, much less understand on our own. Sometimes in order to think, in order to be, we need to be truly listened to. While psychoanalytic work is not the land of the quick fix or the simple how-to, it is the land, often, of deep and lasting change, of authentic thought and feeling, of courage, gravity, and grace.
